Qualifications

Having completed the University of Georgia’s Leadership Endorsement Program, I will be adding L-5 to my State of Georgia Certifications.

Wilson Reading System Certification is just one of the many assets I bring to my teaching and tutoring. I consistently go above and beyond to enhance the learning experience of those around me. I have experience teaching children as young as six years, and adults. I have one-to-one, small-group and large-group instruction experience.

While earning my Master’s degree in Special Education, I was integrally involved in teaching in a Federal D.O.E. funded college preparatory program, Gear Up - Learning to Learn, a $2.3 million federally funded grant, serving under-privileged, inner-city 9th grade minority students. While there I was the assistant to the program director as well as a lead instructor in math, vocabulary, and study skills. I was a co-instructor for the reading modules. One task was to create the layout and design on all module booklets. This constituted over 120 pages for 10 module booklets.

Over the same time frame, I also became an adjunct professor in the Computer Information Services Department at the local community college, F.C.C.J. - South Campus. I was active in their professor development program that consists of Creating Effective Online Learning Environments (C.R.E.O.L.E.) and WebCT training courses. The courses I have taught are Introduction to Electronic Commerce and Introduction to HTML Programming.
